Best made to order Chinese food in the area. I prefer their salt & pepper chicken over some other restaurants within 15-20 minutes drive. Right amount of salt, crispy, and juicy chicken. We also order their Mongolian beef. Sometimes you're able order customized items of menu, if the ingredients are available. That gives me more confidence in their cooking abilities cuz they know what they're doing. And their management and staff know their capabilities and inventory. I hope they continue to do well. They have loyal customers in me and me family.
My wife and I recently discovered Golden Bay Asian Food, and it instantly became one of our favorite spots for Chinese cuisine in the San Diego area. Every dish we tried was a standout. The orange chicken was perfectly crispy with a balanced tangy-sweet glaze, the salt and pepper wings were expertly seasoned with just the right kick, and the honey walnut shrimp was a delightful mix of crunch and creamy sweetness. It's hard to believe we've been missing out on this hidden gem for so long! The flavors were bold, the portions generous, and the quality exceptional. This is a place I'd enthusiastically recommend to friends and family--you'll thank me later!
We went back to Golden Bay Asian Food, and this time everything was amazing! The Kung Pao Chicken was so tasty and packed with juicy, flavorful chicken. The Lo Mein noodles had a nice smoky flavor, probably from being cooked in the wok, which made them extra delicious. The Orange Chicken was a big improvement too! It was full of flavor and made with tender chicken breast. We also got cheese wontons, and they were crispy and super yummy. The dinner portions are huge--you really get your money's worth here. Take a look at my picture and see for yourself! When we picked up our takeout order, the place was busy with lots of people waiting, but the service was fast and friendly. This visit was so much better, and we loved everything. I totally recommend Golden Bay Asian Food if you're looking for great food and big portions!
Tried this place for the first time tonight. The chow fun, chow mein, and hot and sour soup were all amazing. Golden Bay is now my favorite Chinese restaurant in all of San Diego. Can't wait to try other items on the menu.
Great addition to the neighborhood. Golden Bay didn't disappoint from the salt and pepper wings to their Mongolian beef dish. The staff were friendly and the wait for our take out wasn't too bad. Not too much seating available, so if you are planning on dining in, plan accordingly. All in all, definitely on of the better options for family owned Chinese food around and will be in our rotation for dinner for years to come.
My friend wanted GB for his birthday...we ordered crispy beef, special rice, salt and pepper chicken and salt and pepper fries...always pleasant to receive order, people are kind at pick up, still hot when we get it home and ALWAYS delicious. Lots of people inside the restaurant eating lunch and it was very friendly.
Love the healthy stir-fry's here. They are able to accommodate my need to eliminate MSG from the food. I am one of those that gets glue in the tear ducts and neck tightens up when restaurant's aren't transparent with their ingredients. Some say MSG is a myth but it isn't for me. Great customer service, food is always made fresh after ordering. They give ample portions of protein, just wished it a was closer to me. :-) For sure will be back!
Came here for their lunch special and to order catering. Lunch special is $11.95 with choice of over two dozen entrees, rice (white or fried rice), soup (egg drop or hot & sour) and an egg roll. We tried salt & pepper shrimp, salt & pepper filet of fish, orange chicken and chicken with cashew. Big portions, quick and friendly service. Small sitting area with 4 booths and I think 3 tables outdoors. We were headed to a party afterwards and purchased two house chow mien, which was a hit at the party. Tasted similar to Golden Chopsticks.
